Weeknotes 26-40

Hello friends, I would say that this was mostly a post-trip recovery week, which is partially true!! But I also did things. Monday I took off from work because I knew I’d be dead after the trip and I was very correct. My sleep schedule is like a full hour plus offset from where it was pre-trip, I’m getting up at like 7:45am which is only 15 minutes before I have to actually get up which is not good!!!! Tuesday I woke up when I was supposed to but I felt so horribly exhausted that I called in sick and immediately slept until 11. Then Thursday I slept until 8:50 and I had to rush to get to work and even then I was still super late u_u

I’ve been reading more Left Hand of Darkness, I gotta finish that thing already!!! I wasn’t huge into the first half but I think the second half is finally clicking, it’s becoming a lot less about the politics and more about the personal level stuff which is what I’m generally more into in books I’ve found. I guess I already knew this, I’ve never been into super politics-heavy stories (not as in about “”"”politics”””” but like…… I don’t want to read stories about government officials arguing about trade routes and stuff, you know?) I think I need to get better about reading more than one book at a time, I’ll often start something and won’t be super drawn to reading more of it at the moment and that just means I don’t read at all. I should start rotating books or something. HRMmmmrmmmrmm much to consider.

Wednesday I saw Ninajirachi!!!!! I saw her last year when she toured with Umru which was super fun, but this had a whole other level of energy, like last year I feel like most people were there for umru (also a way smaller venue) but having her headline this time was wild. Amazing crowd energy, great song selection (both tracks off her album and some remixes), incredible visuals, soooooo fun!! I really really need one of those folding hand fans though, there was a guy next to me and Michelle who was fanning us off periodically and it was much needed in that hot venue.

The opener 2charm kinda ruled???? I liked their album but I didn’t know much about them, they had such good stage presence, and were doing pushups as dance lmao???? So sick tbh. I hate to say it but the other opener MGNA Crrrta……… they were kinda disappointing. I’m like 90% sure they just lipsynced the entire performance which means they just kinda walked around on stage for 45 minutes lol. I get that they’re really popular for some reason but 2charm was just soooo much better.

Thursday was the first pinball league day of the season, I did pretty well! Which is to say, exactly in the middle of the group (14th of 28). A fun time! Finals being in Maine this time makes me far less inclined to go casually tbh, like last time it was fun to just hang out but I kinda can’t see myself doing that this time unless I make a day out of it. Sooooo maybe I won’t be as concerned about going every week when I already know I’m missing a week soon.

Had a big Movie Weekend, watched Birdman, Love & Pop, Digger, and Licorice Pizza. Birdman was in prep to watch Digger (insane movie btw), Love & Pop I bought the blu-ray since I just assumed I’d like it (and I was right!) since it’s Anno. Licorice Pizza was one of the last PTA movies I’d yet to see and I was talking with Brina about it because of the Problematic Age Gap relationship in the movie. Which like, at first I was like “ohhhh hrm maybe it’s just a plot device to show each character’s growth” but by the end…… I was proven wrong….. Such a funny contrast after Love & Pop’s problematic age gaps because that one is incredibly aware!! And uses them for character growth!! Definitely PTA’s weakest, like the first 45 minutes were such a vibe but it totally loses me and the last couple minutes especially

Digger was kinda insane, saying anything about it would be spoilers and make the experience less fun I think so I will say nothing for anyone reading who may go watch. BUT!!!! I got to see it in vistavision in one of five theaters in the world showing it which was very cool :3c
