Weeknotes 26-42

Hiiiiiiii wow it’s really fall huh……….. been waking up to 45 degree mornings when it feels like it was 75 just a couple weeks ago! Monday was Indigenous Peoples’ Day so I had the day off from work so I mostly just Chilled and wrote my Utah/Vegas blog (not posting until I have my film photos back though) and then got my covid vaccine for the year and then played more Silent Hill 3 for game club. I have a strong feeling that game club is going to just be me and one other coworker having played it since it takes more than 5 minutes to set it up rather than just paying 15 dollars to install it on steam lmao. OH WELL their loss!

Thursday I saw the Street Fighter movie, not good imo! lmao! Not like I was expecting it to be high art but like I was expecting it to at least have an actual ending. I read a lot of Parade by Rachel Cusk this week which I bought last year when visiting Mariah and hrmmmmmmm I think I don’t like it! Which is disappointing when I’d heard so many good things about Rachel Cusk’s books, so maybe it’s just this one? Not sure…….. but next up is Abigail by Magda Szabó which I’m also excited for! It’s been a slightly slower reading year for me this year but I’ll still hit 12 by the end of the year at least! I’ve been feeling myself dipping more into Scrolling as a habit which is bad

Friday was a friend’s birthday party which was very fun, she made us play “king’s game” which I’m fully convinced was like a well-known thing referenced in anime all the time but she and I were the only ones who knew what she was talking about so I have no idea where I know it from lmao. Honestly the most high school feeling party I’ve been to in ages

This weekend was very cafe/bakery focused for me!! Saturday I went to Komugi and Michette with Snow since Michette just opened a second location closer to me, sooooooo yummy, huge line out the door. Definitely want to go back! Sunday I went to Newbery Street Coffee in Brookline, an area I’m not often in while they’re open (weekends from 10-1 only). Incredibly good, probably my favorite pourover coffee I’ve had in Boston? I bought a bag from them that was super expensive but it was yummy so it’ll be worth it I think!! Instantly threw it in the freezer since I just got a new bag from Broadsheet and that’ll take me like two months to go through.

I was in Brookline to hang out with Olivia and make a mask for her masquerade Halloween party in a couple weeks, which there is no “costume”, but instead it’s “wear your nicest/most formal outfit and a mask”, a la Phantom of the Opera. It was really nice to see her which I only have once since she moved in September :’)))) Olivia watched Scream for the first time this week and loved it so I really need to get her to watch the other Matthew Lillard classic Hackers.

When I got home I played a few games of Deadlock with Garrett and it might be the most immediately incomprehensible game I’ve ever played, like just so overwhelming with information right out of the gate and the tutorial tells you how to move around and shoot but does not tell you the like, core loop of the game and so even though we just played the ARAM-like mode we just kept getting steamrolled and every time I died I couldn’t even tell how. Not for me I think!!! Too bad since the character designs are really good and mechanically are sooooo interesting.

Okay that’s it n_n

Things I’ve been into this week!!!
